RAMSBOTTOM suffered defeat in the final of the Bolton Hospital Cup at the Reebok Stadium last night.
The Rams threw everything they had at their opponents in the dying minutes but could not find an equaliser.
It was Ramsbottom's final game of the season and the first opportunity for most of their players to play at a Premiership - or even League - ground.
Gary Andrew got Atherton's opener on 15 minutes with Chris Arnold adding a second on 38.
John Phillips reduced the arrears for the Rams on 87 minutes but Rovers held out against their NWCL Division One rivals.
