A FORMER employee has been charged with attempted murder after a company boss was seriously injured in an alleged machete attack.
Police said Andrew Holt, 37, managing director of What More UK, was assaulted at the business premises, at Huncoat Business Park, Whinney Hill Lane, Huncoat, yesterday.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 7.45am and took Mr Holt to Blackburn Royal Infirmary where his injuries were said to be serious but not life threatening.
Police said he had received wounds to the body "probably caused by a machete."
Royd Ullah, 27, of Whalley Road, Accrington, has been charged with attempted murder and was due to appear before Hyndburn magistrates today.
An employee at the company, which manufactures plastics and mouldings for garden products, confirmed the alleged attacker was an ex-employee. The business, which works for firms around the world, was open as normal today.
No-one at What More would comment on the incident.
