THE Liberal Democrats on Pendle Council are challenging the other parties to agree now to a programme for the year ahead.
In a statement that makes clear that all groups must work together on the hung council, the Liberals list 11 priorities they would like to see included in the agreed programme.
They include:
Scrapping the Leader/Cabinet structure imposed last year
The establishment of an Anti Social Behaviour Unit with real teeth to tackle the problem
A further expansion of the Area Committee system in which each town controls its own affairs
Anew look at clearance in the Whitefield/Bradley area continued support for the A56 villages by-pass from East Lancashire to Yorkshire.
