MEMBERS of the Save Cravenside Action Group in Barnoldswick are hoping to keep their campaign opposing Lancashire County Council's residential home proposals in the public eye with an event in the town square on Saturday.

The group have organised a big balloon release, between 10am and noon, where people wanting to show their support for Cravenside can buy a balloon for 50 pence.

Group chairman Dean Ashley said: "We are hoping to get each individual person to buy a balloon and write a message on the label attached to the balloon telling the leader of the county council, Hazel Harding, what they think of the proposals.

"All balloons will be released at noon sending a clear message to Lancashire County Council and if anyone finds the labels they are asked to post them on to Hazel Harding, so hopefully she will get a few messages from the people of West Craven.

"We are going to try to keep the campaign in the public eye by doing something every month before they are supposed to make the final decision."
