HYNDBURN will play host to the largest gathering of folk fans in the county this year when the Lancashire Clog and Folk Festival takes centre stage.
Three days of events will be mounted across Accrington and Oswaldtwistle, and will feature street theatre, workshops, craft stalls and appearances by Punch and Judy.
The action begins tomorrow night at Accrington Town Hall with music from the Oyster Band, and the finest clog and morris dancing teams in the county will perform at the same venue on Saturday between 10am and 4pm.
Folk musicians will step on to the outdoor festival stage.
On Sunday, most of the festival action will switch to Oswaldtwistle Mills, where a colourful collection of clog and morris teams will entertain in the outdoor marquees from 10am to 4pm.
Top acts at the weekend will include the Festival Ceilidh Band and folk singer and raconteur Vin Garbutt.
There will be an acoustic special with Bram Taylor, a Poems and Pints session and performances by the Oswaldtwistle Slopstones.
And for folkies who want to have a go themselves, there will be Folkus workshops at the Oswaldtwistle Civic Theatre on Saturday.
Tickets for all the events are available at the Accrington Information centre. For more information phone 01254 872595 or visit the festival website at www.lancashireclogandfolkfestival.co.uk.
