A RARE puppy has been reunited with its owners after being missing for more than 10 days.

Saranna, a four-month-old Dogue-de-Bordeaux, disappeared from Stone House Farm in Tyldesley and last month concerned owners Richard Haworth and his sister Jane launched a desperate appeal.

But an anonymous phone call out of the blue led to Saranna's safe return. The playful pooch is now back with her delighted parents and her owners -- who say they will never let her out of their sight again.

Richard said: "We are over the moon. Whoever had her did look after her but it was a horrible time for us all.

"We had nearly given up hope but then the phone call came out of the blue. We are delighted and Saranna is back to her old self -- all sleepy and playful."

Saranna, one of four puppies born on the farm, is disabled and is thought to be worth about £1,000, although the breed itself attracts prices of up to £2,000.

But she was born with bent front legs and a bladder infection, lowering her value. Her brothers and sisters were sold to new homes in Bolton -- leaving Storm and Elsa with just one puppy, Saranna.

Richard added: "We just want to say a big thankyou to the police, the public and the Journal. We would not have got her back otherwise. It is now like she has never been away and her parents are both overjoyed."

Three people have been arrested in connection with Saranna's disappearance and are due to be questioned by detectives.
