MORECAMBE just can't stop winning as they made it four victories from four games in Saturday's Northern Premier League clash at St Annes.
The Woodhill Lane side top the league by two points from Darwen after a hard-fought two-wicket victory at Vernon Road.
Batting first, St Annes opener Adrian Darlington made 91 before Morecambe professional Ramesh Powar finally broke his resistance, with Mark Woodhead taking the catch.
Darlington was supported well, firstly by James Ellis who made 34 and professional Geoff Love, who hit a half-century.
Powar took the wickets of both men as St Annes went on to a useful looking 213 for 5.
Morecambe lost three wickets early on but once again it was Powar whose quality shone through with an excellent 92 before being out, caught Baldwin and bowled Davis.
That left the result hanging on a knife-edge, but Tom Clough steadied things and hit an unbeaten 33 to give his side its third 12-point victory of the season.
Lancaster' s start to the season has been more varied, with a defeat against reigning champions Netherfield on Saturday.
Netherfield were pre-post favourites for this season's title, but had to overcome a great performance from new Lancaster pro Renier Munnik to take the honours.
Batting first, Lancaster made a decent 171 for 5 wickets.
Most of those runs came from the outstanding Munnik, who hit an unbeaten 103, smashing eight fours and three wickets in a fine innings to which the Cumbrian side had no answer.
However, Munnik's colleagues weren't able to take advantage as Netherfield's Mark Hadwin took 4 for 41.
Lancaster's bowlers were unable to stop Netherfield's big hitting batsmen, with 75 from Walmsley and 73 from Strydon doing the damage as they eased to 172 for 2.
The success of Morecambe's first team is repeated in the second XI, with the division two sides leading their division with an identical 51 points.
Lancaster's seconds are fourth with two victories, a draw and a defeat.
