THE Abbeystead Estate hosts an introduction to shooting and country sports on May 18.
The Young Shots Day, organised by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation, will see young people given full safety training and the chance to try their hand at clay pigeon shooting and air-rifle target shooting.
Phil Pugh, of the BASC said: "BASC is committed to ensuring the highest standards of safety and sportsmanship on the shooting field.
"It is essential that all young people who wish to take up shooting are given the opportunity to learn safety and responsibility, alongside skill and technique.
"We are delighted to be at Abbeystead, a beautiful estate with a sporting tradition stretching back over hundreds of years."
A limited number of places, priced at £10 each, are still available.
