TWO more deliberate fires hit the Lancaster area on Saturday, following on from a series of arson attacks on two local council estates.
Between 11am and 1pm on Friday, vandals piled up rubbish by the back wall of a home on Greta Place, Ryelands.
This was set alight, damaging windows and causing smoke damage estimated at a total of £300.
Between 2.30pm and 2.40pm a deliberate fire gutted a slide at a children's playground in Palatine Park, Lancaster.
A pile of paper was placed below the slide and lit, causing £500 worth of damage to the slide and the rubber safety padding around it.
Two young boys were seen running away from the scene, laughing.
Investigations continue into a major fire which caused £5,000 worth of damage to the former Willow Lane School and a rubbish fire on Ryelands lit close to a gas main.
