POVERTY campaigners are to meet local MPs Hilton Dawson and Geraldine Smith to call for fairness in world trade.
Local members of the Trade Justice Movement will meet with Ms Smith on Friday and Mr Dawson on Saturday to call for a change in world trade rules, which, they argue, favours rich nations over their poorer counterparts.
Local organiser, Avril Moncaster, said: " The way that international trade rules work is a scandal.
Unless something changes the world's poor will continue to get poorer."
