A MUM who has dropped six dress sizes has shared one of her slimming secrets with Lancashire Evening Telegraph readers -- a weekly trip to the curry house!
Beryl Thomas, 50, has slimmed down from a size 22 to a size 10 and lost 61lbs by avoiding pies, cakes and chocolate and enjoying fish, chicken and salads.
One of her treats has been a weekly visit to Sukhi's Indian Cuisine in Blackburn Road, Darwen, for a low-fat curry with her husband Howard.
After her slimming success Sukhi cooked the couple a celebratory low-fat meal on the house.
Beryl, of Hesketh Close, Darwen, said: "We had a huge prawn cocktail for starters, followed by garlic fillet of chicken with green salad and chilli grilled vegetables, fresh orange wedges, lemon sorbet and coffee. It was lovely. Really nice, and very filling."
Beryl, a member of Darwen Weight Watchers' Club, now weighs 10st 1lb but said she used to have very low self-esteem and a year ago was feeling at her lowest ebb.
"Twelve months on I'm running round Darwen with a pair of angel wings on my back -- it's a bit of lightheartedness and it's encouraging when people give me a wave.
"My children call me an angel in training," she said.
