BURNLEY golfer Michael Hunt has qualified for the Brabazon Trophy.
He joins Rossendale golfer Ashley Siddle, who didn't need to qualify because of his quarter-final finish at the English Amateur Championships last year, in tomorrow's first round.
Hunt, 23, shot 74, two over, yesterday. A total of 76 would have made the cut.
"I went out three under but came back five over to finish two over overall.
"I took seven on a par four on the 11th, I hit a bad tee shot into the rough and the rough is so thick you can hardly find your ball!"
Hunt, who has a handicap of plus two, tees off in the first round tomorrow at 2.40pm. He will play a second round on Saturday hoping to make the cut before playing 36 holes on Sunday.
