A WORKING group to establish ways of getting the public more involved in Rossendale Council will hold its first meeting in June.
When Labour took control of Rossendale in the May elections, leader Coun Graham Pearson promised to look at ways to increase public input into the council's decision-making.
He said: "We are forming a working group of seven members who will meet early in June to look into the possibility of setting up people's juries and getting the public more involved with committees.
"These will be based in the towns and we will not expect people to always come into Rawtenstall to discover what is happening in their area."
