AN elderly shopper had her handbag stolen in a drive-by snatch outside a supermarket.
The 60-year-old woman was leaving the Asda store at Pilsworth at 8.15pm on Friday (May 10) when a silver-coloured Vauxhall Vectra pulled up alongside her filled trolley.
One of the two occupants, a man and a woman, reached out and grabbed the shopper's handbag from the trolley.
The thieves drove away at speed with the bag and its contents worth £170. The car had been reported stolen from the Oldham area prior to Friday's incident.
Anyone who witnessed the handbag snatch should contact Bury police on 0161 856 8157. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
