A DIAMOND anniversary celebration proved a sparkling occasion for the 1005 (Radcliffe, Whitefield & Prestwich) Squadron of the Air Training Corps.
Past and present members attended last Friday's (May 10) 60th birthday bash at the group's base in Knowles Street, Radcliffe.
The squadron band provided the musical entertainment and the cadets demonstrated camouflage techniques, rifle use and Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme skills.
Refreshment was available at a barbecue and beer tent, where many memories were shared, and there was a photographic display illustrating the activities of the Corps from the last six decades.
Flt Lt Roy Cross said: "We had more than 60 people attending and everyone had a good time.
"As a result of the night we have decided to establish an Old Members' Association."
