A BRAVE youngster whose mum is trying to raise enough money to get him specialist medical treatment in Hungary will receive a cash boost following a special night of entertainment at Burnley Miners Social Club.
The Plumbe Street club hosted a Stars in Their Eyes evening last night to help raise the cash needed to send Jamie Graham, five, to the Peto Institute for specialist treatment for his cerebral palsy.
The centre has pioneered the way in which conductive education can aid the development of cerebral palsy sufferers.
Jamie's mum Anita Graham is trying to raise the £15,000 needed to send Jamie to the centre for six months in July.
The trip had been originally planned for March but that was before the family discovered Jamie needed an operation on his pelvis and hip bones, which have come out of their sockets.
This will take place at Liverpool's Alder Hey Hospital at the end of this month.
Despite all his problems Anita said her son was bearing up well, adding: "He's doing fine -- he's a happy lad."
Admission to the Stars in Their Eyes event was free of charge and included performances by semi-professional musicians with local singers sponsored. There was also an auction of raffle prizes. Anita said: "We hope it raised £1,000 as those who took part had already raised over £300."
