THE biggest collection of sculptures by internationally-acclaimed German artist Ulrich Ruckriem will be installed in Radcliffe.
Ulrich, whose monumental "standing stones" were unveiled in Outwood Country park in 1998, has offered the town a large collection of his awesome sculptures and will visit later this month to discuss his plan.
Speaking at the latest Radcliffe Area Board heritage sub group meeting, Tony Trehy, Bury's principal art officer, said: "Ulrich has offered us a significantly larger number of sculptures than he did originally and we are delighted. It would be the largest collection of his work in the world."
Ulrich is thought to be one of the top five artists in the world. His work can be found in Berlin, Tokyo, Barcelona and Cologne and he has recently been commissioned to produce sculptures for The Tate and The Royal Academy.
