RECENTLY excessive numbers of motorists have been fined for what would seem trivial speeds above the lawful limit.
While I do not condone breaking the law, this situation isn't doing anything to enhance the image of the police.
Not long ago two fruit and vegetable vendors lost their appeal over using Imperial weights and measures.
If this is the case one would expect the speed limit to be assessed in kilometres in which case the police action could be seen as illegal.
Either we are in Europe or we aren't.
