RADCLIFFE High School is at the heart of the community and that's official!
The Abden Street school has just received the coveted Schools Curriculum Award for the quality of its working relationship with members of the community.
The national award follows a visit by two assessors who met with some of those who help support the school.
Headteacher Graham Rollinson said: "In our submission, we had to detail all the activities we organise with various sections of our community. This included such things as our family literacy project with parents and grandparents, our personal safety programme with the local community police and our arts programme."
He said pupils' learning had been enhanced by the school's partnerships with many different individuals and organisations in the outside world.
Mr Rollinson added: "We are grateful to so many people, our parents, governors, staff and community who give of their time to the benefit of us all."
The school has been invited to send two children and two adults to London to officially celebrate their achievement, where they will join 251 other schools in collecting their certificates.
The event, which will take place at the Tate Modern on June 11, will have the Duke of Gloucester as the special guest.
