SIX female pupils from Beardwood High School in Blackburn were chosen to take part in a residential weekend for ethnic minorities.
The pupils travelled to the Lake District to join 20 other young Muslim women for the educational project which is the first of its kind.
The girls received certificates from the Ethnic Association Development Project for their participation.
Nazmun Usman, Beardwood school community officer, said: "This was the perfect opportunity for these pupils to take part in activities and workshops in and around Ambleside."
