A 29-YEAR-OLD who pleaded guilty to three offences of driving while disqualified -- two of them on the same day -- was jailed for five months when he appeared before Blackburn magistrates.
The court heard that Paul Whittle was stopped as he drove away from Blackburn after appearing in court on a drugs charge. He was arrested, processed by police and then went straight back to his car and drove again. Whittle sped through red lights at high speed and officers gave up the pursuit because of the risk to the public. He was arrested after crashing into a wall. Five days later he was caught behind the wheel in Preston after visiting the town's police station.
Whittle, of Garsdale Road, Ribbleton, Preston, also pleaded guilty to possession of heroin, two offences of driving without due care, obstructing a police officer by giving false details and failing to stop when required by a police officer.
