HOLLAND'S biggest ever pop group are set to headline at the opening night of Blackburn's newest bar.
The Vengaboys, who have had a string of top ten hits over the past three years, have been lined-up for the opening night of Jumpin' Jaks.
Club giant Luminar has spent £2million transforming the former Mecca Bingo hall in St Peter Street into a two-storey live music bar, which opens on May 30.
There are 21 Jumpin Jak's venues across the country, which have played host to a chart-topping stars such as current pop group Blue.
But the act lined up to launch Jumpin Jak's in Blackburn will be the Vengaboys, it was confirmed today.
The band have had two UK number one hits with Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom, and Going to Ibiza as well as several other top ten records.
They have also achieved number ones across Europe and have hit the headlines for other reasons other than their music.
They once threw more than £7,000 in cash into the audience during a concert in Spain and promoted a record release by breaking the world record for the longest kiss - almost 35 hours.
Jumpin Jaks manager Darren Rowley said: "The Vengaboys' songs are all light-hearted and fun, and that is exactly what we are about at Jumpin Jaks. The band has topped the charts in the UK and across the continent. They also have their tracks used on more than 90 per cent of party albums which are released so they are obviously doing something right."
