PAUL Weller has successfully come through a second operation on his right knee but he admitted: "I will have to have another one in a couple of years."
The Clarets midfielder is troubled by his cartilage but it is a situation that can be controlled by regular surgery.
"It is my right knee that is the problem and it is a question of just cutting a little away and then cleaning the knee out," he explained.
"The operation went really well because I felt fine when I came round after it. The last time I felt a bit funny but this time it was great.
"I have been resting it this week and will keep doing that next week before I start work on strengthening it.
"I am going to have a holiday but I will be back in training three or four weeks before the other lads because I need to get fit for the start of the season.
"I will be working with Saus (physio Ian Liversedge) and he will have me doing lots of work on the bike as well as with weights. The main thing is to make sure it is fully ready for next season.
"I know I will have to have it done again in a couple of years time but it is just one of those things that has to be looked after."
Meanwhile Clarets boss Stan Ternent's phone has continued to be red hot ever since the end of the season as he has been bombarded by calls from agents desperate to secure deals for their clients.
There are record numbers of players who are looking for work next season meaning that the agents are working overtime.
But Ternent's response has had to be the same for everyone - thanks for the call but nothing doing for the time being at least.
"It has been amazing, my phone is forever ringing," he admitted. "There are so many players who are out of contract this summer and clubs just can't afford to retain them.
"Every Football League manager is in the same position as me, having to cut the wage bill in the light of the problems surrounding the television money.
"It is my intention to strengthen the squad but that may not be possible for a while.
"Some of the clubs that have come down might be able to sell a few players and get a bit of money that way but the rest of us in the Football League just can't take the chance.
"I still have no idea what is going to happen this summer."
