A THEATRE which has recently made a push to bring in big-name acts is giving the stage back to local performers next week.
Next Wednesday, for three nights, the Blackburn Drama Club takes over Darwen Library Theatre for a production of 'The Memory of Water'.
The play follows three sisters who are preparing for their mother's funeral the following day. They quarrel, reminisce and struggle to find shared memories of their childhood in Scarborough. The director promises the give the audience features such as pathos, humour and insight into family relationships at stressful times.
Steve Burch, in his second season as theatre manager, said he was delighted to keep local acts alongside the more famous faces to ensure the audience is given a varied programme.
