LANCASHIRE County Council has announced that an improvement scheme for the A646 Burnley to Todmorden road close to the railway bridge is planned for later this year.

This will involve new warning signs and chevrons to mark the bends.

THE Parish Council expressed its appreciation of the work done by former borough Councillor Philip Walsh over the last eight years.

A RESIDENT has complained of people taking their dogs on to the sports field at Mount Lane and allowing them to foul the area.

There is a parish council notice to deter people from doing this, but it does not seem to be effective.

A FURTHER meeting with representatives of Lancashire County Council has been held regarding Green Lane.

As a result, the authority agreed to set in motion the procedure to apply for a traffic restriction order.

Letters of support from residents and groups in the area will be needed in due course.
