A SINGLE father's dream came true when he joined a football team and ran out on to Ewood Park to play in a Football Aid match.
But, unfortunately, he tore a calf muscle, so his moment of glory ended up as just 15 minutes of fame when he had to be taken off and was unable to rejoin the team.
Brian Leach, 37, of Hazelhurst, Holcombe Brook, said: "I have been a Blackburn Rovers supporter for nine years and am a season ticket holder. To me it was a dream come true."
He won his place on the away team captained by former Rovers star Kevin Hird, but he couldn't remember the final scoreline the home team scored too many goals!
Unfortunately, his daughter Jennifer, 12, also a Rover's season ticket holder, could not attend because she was on a school field trip.
He said: "I won my place through Talk Sport Radio, but I had a look at some of the bids that were on the Internet for tickets and some people paid £200 to £300.
"I came away with the kit I played in and had a really fantastic time. The only downside was the calf muscle injury, but I was one of the older members of the team."
The event raised £5,500 for diabetes charity and other local charities supported by the club.
