THE parish clerk has reassured people in the cottages at the bottom of Gorple Road that the parish council has no intention whatsoever of removing the beech hedge once it has been given as a gift to the parish and that she hopes to be able to report a happy conclusion to the next council meeting.
RESIDENTS of Worsthorne will have the exciting opportunity to bid against one another on Tuesday May 28th in the Church Rooms when an auction will take place.
Viewing will take place from 7pm and the auction will start promptly at 7.30pm.

COUNCILLOR Alan Lawson has decided that it is time to name and shame the main culprits who are responsible for so much litter in the village square.
Apparently the larger birds - crows and magpies - have been observed scavenging in the litter bins.
The parish council is planning to request the borough council to supply new litter bins with lids.
ST John's Cub Scout pack jubilantly brought home the Chris Crielman Trophy to Worsthorne after they won an activity day skills competition at Bowley.
They competed against all cubs from across East Lancashire.
They were cheered on by their Akela, David Toddington. They now go through to the regional heats to compete for the Akela Trophy.
The cubs meet on Monday evenings in the Church Rooms from 6.30pm to 7.45pm and more adult volunteer helpers would be welcome - just contact Barlou (otherwise known as Steve Martin) on 01282 413717.
THE Tuesday afternoon group are looking for new members.
They meet in the Reading Room from 1.30pm to 3.30pm for dominoes, cards, socialising etc.
Cost is £1.20, which includes afternoon tea.
MEN can now benefit from local authority concessionary travel schemes from the age of 60 instead of 65.
It is estimated that more than one million men will, for the first, time, enjoy cheaper travel under new legislation.
