BUDDING young artists still have the chance to vie for a top prize in a competition with a watery theme.
Clitheroe fishkeeper Steve Punchard, of the Aquatic Hire Company, Derby Street, is offering a £1,200 prize for the best picture from a primary school pupil with the theme Waterworld.
Entries have poured in since the competition was launched but there is still time to take part.
The winner will have a fully-stocked 4ft aquarium for the school, complete with a six-month maintenance contract, worth £800 in total, and a fully-stocked 2ft aquarium for the home with a retail value of £400.
Youngsters up to the age of 11 are asked to produce a picture in any medium or size by May 31.
The judges will include Mayor of Clitheroe Coun Mary Robinson and entries should be sent to Aquatic Hire Company, Derby Street, Clitheroe, Lancashire, BB7 1NJ, with the name of the entrant on the back.
Aquariums are the latest celebrity fad, with enthusiasts said to include Pop Idol judge Pete Waterman.
