POOR weather didn't dampen the MayDayze spirit at the weekend when professional and amateur entertainers converged on Leigh.
The arts festival was hailed a huge success by Arts Development Officer Angela Chappell who said: "The performers gave it their all despite poor weather. Some moved indoors and into the Spinning Gate shopping centre.
"Shoppers enjoyed jugglers and performances from madcap American Rex Boyd, the Fairly Famous Family and a spoof Aussie chef demonstration.
"Audiences were fantastically supportive, they stood in the drizzle and followed the acts around until the rain stopped. Artists and staff excelled with their show must go on attitude. The success shows you don't need good weather to have a good time."
