FOUR-TIME World Superbike champion Carl Fogarty has set his sights on scoring immediate points when his new team take to the grid later this season.
The Blackburn-born rider has launched his own team - Foggy Petronas Racing - after hanging up his helmet and he expects his new career to be as successful as his previous one.
Fogarty yesterday unveiled his team's brand new Burton-upon-Trent-based headquarters as the team put yet another piece of the jigsaw in place in the build-up to their debut at Laguna Seca, California in July.
The all-new Foggy FP1 machine is yet to be unveiled but Fogarty insists the development is on schedule - and he has high hopes when it makes a debut later this season.
He said: "I want to win simple as that.
"What I expect and what I get are two different things and I appreciate you've to walk before you can run.
"The bike is brand new and we'll have teething problems for sure.
"If we can be somewhere on the pace straight away and scoring points I'll be happy with that.
"I want to win as soon as possible - like when I was riding."
Team Foggy is backed by Malaysian oil giants Petronas and the bike will be powered by a Sauber-based engine being perfected by Swiss tuning specialist Eskil Suter - the final piece of the jigsaw before the FP1 can finally be revealed to the world.
Fogarty said: "I think we have done something in six months that would normally take two years and this is the first proof of that. The guys have worked really hard.
"It's a massively exciting project. I'm a big name in motorcycle racing - everyone wants to know what's happening.
"Some people want me to do really well and some want me to fail, it's the usual thing.
"I'm really looking forward to it. We're ready to go pretty much.
"We're just waiting for the engines coming out of Switzerland and then we're ready to go."
Fogarty's hopes will rest on 1996 champion - and his old on-track rival - Troy Corser and James Haydon.
But Fogarty admits he was surprised to sign up such big-name riders for a new team entering its first season of action.
He added: "I'm very, very happy with our rider line-up.
"I didn't expect to get two of the kind of guys we've got in our first year."
Corser admits he is raring to return to action as the brand new World Superbike team nears its race debut.
The Australian won the world championship in 1996 and spent much of his career battling it out with new team boss Fogarty.
But, as Team Foggy Petronas Racing added another piece to their jigsaw, Corser is relishing the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with his former nemesis as they bid for a successful entrance at Laguna Seca, California in July.
Fogarty set himself the daunting task of building up a squad from scratch in only six months with backing from Malaysian oil giants Petronas - but Corser has complete faith in his new boss.
He said: "I have been a bit bored - I haven't had a bike to ride.
"I have seen a bike which nobody has had a chance to see.
"It's come a long way and we're on schedule and that doesn't surprise me as I had faith in the team and in Carl. I'm really, really happy.
"I just can't wait to get on the bike and on the track."
Team-mate Haydon also confesses he has been kicking his heels waiting for the Sauber-engined FP1 bike to be completed.
He said: "It's been frustrating not riding. I've just been keeping fit.
"We've got a great team behind us so I can't wait to go racing."
