THREE hardy trekkers will tackle Britain's biggest mountain challenge to raise cash for charity.
Jan Ferguson-Massey and Cathy Watson, who are members of Blackburn Ladies' Circle, and Cathy's partner Andrew Bridge are targeting the three-peak classic of Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis in a bid to boost the National Kidney Research Foundation.
The trio aim to complete the sky-high marathon in under 36 hours -- walking 27 miles, which includes over 10,000 feet of ascent, and travelling more than 850 miles by bus. Much of the walking will be done in the dark, but Jan, this year's Circle chairman, said: "We're all training really hard, and we're very excited about our adventure.
"It's such a good cause that we've raised much of our sponsorship already. But extra donations are always welcome."
The threesome will take on the top challenge on June 21, 22 and 23.
Anyone who wishes to pledge cash can contact Andrew on 01706 218162.
