THE Queen's Lancashire Regiment will be taking to the road next week to meet youngsters interested in a career in the army.
From Monday the regiment's recruiting caravan will be in Burnley showing what the army has to offer.
Captain John Harker, who is leading the recruitment drive, said new recruits could expect benefits like foreign travel almost as soon as they joined up.
He added: "Now is an excellent time to be a member of the Queen's Lancashire Regiment. Our battalion is currently in training for our war fighting role and they will be posted on a peace keeping mission in Bosnia followed by two years in Cyprus, with training exercises to Jordan, Egypt and the Falklands."
As well as Burnley soldiers will be visiting Nelson, Colne, Barnoldswick, Rawtenstall, Bacup and Padiham.
Visitors will have the chance to meet serving soldiers.
On Wednesday, May 29 the battalion's Corps of Drums will join the recruiting team in Burnley town centre and on Friday the King's Division Normandy Band will be playing.
