LAW and order will come under the spotlight at the second meeting of the Rossendale Prayer Network tomorrow at Bacup Leisure Hall at 7.30pm.
Guests include Judge Ian Pickup and Sgt Roger Barlow and there will also be representation from Victims Support.
A videoed interview of Inspector David Robinson will also be shown when he tells how as a local policeman he had been invited to a prayer network local group in Chorley to discuss some community problems with certain types of crime.
Chorley Christians then prayed and, to quote the Inspector, for whatever reason things did improve after that.
The Rev Neil Hepworth, co-ordinator for the Rossendale Prayer Network, said: "We all want society to be a better and safer place, where the law is respected, and criminal acts a rare occurrence.
"As Christians we want to express our support for those who serve us all in the attempts to uphold the law and tackle crime.
"We recognise that some people's mitigating circumstances are a factor in their involvement in crime and we have compassion for those whose background and life experience seemed to give them little choice, but for many others crime is a wilful selfish act which diminishes the lives of the law abiding majority."
