SPEED traps using cameras hidden behind signs, trees and bushes have been outlawed by the government.

All cameras must now be painted bright yellow so they can be easily seen -- and police will be barred from putting them up on roads which are not verified accident blackspots.

The change means that hundreds of cameras must be ripped out in the next six months.

Yeeeah. Can I have my £40 back please?

Good news too that the officers have also been stopped from using hand held speed guns in unmarked vans.

They must now wear highly visible day-glo jackets, stand out in the open and use police vehicles.

I should think so too. There's no excuse for ridiculous speeding, but it is about time someone was on the side of the heavily persecuted motorist for a change.
