LEIGH Centurions have been dealt another injury blow with prop Paul Norman being ruled out for the rest of the 2002 season.
The Centurions lost Norman with knee trouble several weeks ago but the latest injury setback happened in training when he sustained a torn anterior cruciate ligament which will require more surgery.
The injury means that Norman, who scored the last- second winning try against Whitehaven in this season Kellogg's Challenge Cup, will not play again until 2003.
Valuable
Centurions head coach Paul Terzis says: "This is a blow for Paul and the club and we wish him a speedy recovery. Paul has made some valuable contributions to the Centurions when he has played and it will be good to see him back to his very best."
Norman says: "The injury has finished my season but I plan to be back as soon as possible in a Centurions shirt."
The popular prop joins other long-term casualties at Hilton Park, Dave Ingram and Liam Bretherton. Ingram needs surgery on a troublesome knee injury while Bretherton is still eight weeks away from a comeback after a badly broken wrist.
