BURY Boxing Club topped off a great night's entertainment by winning eight of the 13 bouts staged in a recent tournament at Radcliffe Civic Hall.
The Bury lads were representing a Greater Manchester Select team against an Ireland select and got off to a great start when schoolboy Rico Henchion beat Alan Curran of Dungarvan ABC after the referee stopped the contest in the second round.
Kieran Farrell followed that up with a unanimous verdict over Frankie Cunningham of Birtley Boys ABC before middleweight Tommy Boswell won a unanimous verdict against John Mackie of Conmel ABC, Tipperary.
Schoolboy Joshua Cole beat Dean O'Gorman and Sam Dawson defeated Ian Cordts of Cashen Vale ABC, County Kerry, the referee stopping both contests and Haroon Khan won a unanimous verdict over Damon Slater of Marlow ABC.
Another unanimous verdict went to Alec Mooney in his fight with Anthony McNamara of Tipperary and Mark Woodall celebrated victory when Bernie McDonagh of Glen Cork ABC retired in the third round.
