ROVERS keeper Alan Kelly, who was at the centre of the training ground bust-up with Irish skipper Roy Keane, has blasted the Manchester United star and given his full support to manager Mick McCarthy.
Keane's departure has rocked the Republic's preparations ahead of their first game against Cameroon a week tomorrow but Kelly insists that the remaining 22 players are united behind their boss.
"We are 110 per cent in support of Mick," he insisted, as he joined a show of support with veteran striker Niall Quinn and new captain Steve Staunton.
"Roy has let himself down with the things he has said. They shouldn't be said and I have never seen anything like it.
"Sometimes you have arguments in football and I had one with Roy the other day. But there is a line you cannot walk over - and that line was breached by Roy and that is why I am showing my support for Mick.
"I was shocked by the things Roy said and I think most of the players in the room were shocked by it.
"I would have no qualms about telling him what he said was unacceptable, none at all."
