QUITE a few Wesham Road Runners completed their second race in two days in a 4.9-mile event at Kirkham on May 13. About a dozen of them also ran the Blackpool 10k on the Sunday.
Alex Rowe claimed his second handicap victory by knocking eight seconds off his previous time. Ten runners made their debut.

Last Thursday Wesham's Martin Bates clinched third place with a time of 27:21 in the latest Shawes Arms 4.8-mile race at Preston. He finished behind Preston Harriers Matt Livingstone (25:13) and Dave Parkington (27:01).
Wesham's Sam Moss recorded his best ever Shawes position - 11th in 29:53. Dave Hyland finished 30th in 35:09
Thirty seven runners completed the course.
The next in the Shawes Arms race series, which is free to enter, is on June 20, starting at 7.30pm The race starts and finishes on the Boulevard, Frenchwood, Preston.
