FIREMEN at South Shore Fire Station have given the Macmillan Windmill Appeal a helpful "lift" in the form of £500.
Leading fire fighter Lee Munday and his colleagues swept appeal manager Karen Dyke off her feet (pictured) when they presented the cheque last week for the money they raised from a Christmas raffle.
Karen said: "The Macmillan Appeal is immensely grateful to our local firefighters. They are a blazing example of a uniformed sector caring for the community both on and off duty."
