DOWNPOURS didn't dampen spirits at the Puppet Up! 2002 parade.
The town saw hundreds of shoppers lined the streets of Blackpool town centre to cheer on the flamboyant cast of puppets and puppeteers in the rain.
Town Crier Barry McQueen headed the parade which embodied huge fantasy figures including Punch and Judy and a 42ft long giant leech.
The procession snaked its way through the streets with children and adults alike enjoying the carnival atmosphere despite the weather.
