SHAKERS midfielder Paul Reid will be making a quick return to Gigg Lane next season - in a Swansea shirt!

The former Oldham, Huddersfield, Bradford and Leicester player is set to link up with the Swans after being released by Andy Preece at the end of the season.

Reid was a teammate of City boss Nick Cusack in his Leicester days and has agreed a 12-month deal with the Welsh club.

He signed for the Shakers before their final season in the First Division and was one of Neil Warnock's first acquisitions picked up on a free transfer from Oldham Athletic.

He made 110 league appearances for the Shakers scoring 10 goals and was appointed club captain following the departure of Nick Daws to Rotherham last summer.

After being shown around the South Wales area by Cusack, the 34-year-old is believed to be moving his family down from the north west.
