SCHOOLS can still get involved in a fitness and fund-raising event.
The skipathon for the British Heart Foundation is being organised at Darwen Leisure Centre.
Several primary and secondary schools from the town will take part in the event in July.
Most money will go to the BHF, although the schools get to keep 25 per cent for themselves.
Sally Jones, a school sports co-ordinator employed by Blackburn with Darwen Council, is organising the event through her contacts.
"We hope to raise a substantial amount of cash," she said. "All the primary schools can send a team and the skipping will be done over a two-hour block."
Anyone wanting more information should call the leisure centre on 01254 771511.
