AFTER weeks of searching, auditions and being tested out on air, the Radio Wave breakfast show has finally found a new star presenter.
Karen Pettitt, the delighted winner, was picked from ten finalists in a "Search for a Star" competition and presented with £1,000 cash, a three-month freelance contract with Radio Wave and various other treats including flowers, balloons and vouchers for meals out.
Karen, 23, from South Shore, Blackpool, is absolutely over-the-moon with her achievement. She currently works as a receptionist at Superbowl in the resort.
Helen Bowden, programme manager at Radio Wave, was delighted with the response: "There is lots of talent out there and we found 10 brilliant people. It was a very difficult decision --everyone had something different to offer.
"Karen had the personality, wit, and enthusiasm we were looking for and both Roy Lynch and Peter McLean from the breakfast show are looking forward to working with her."
