THEY may have only got to number one five days ago but already chart-toppers Liberty X are planning their next assault on the the Top 40.
Local lad Kevin Simm, who admitted this week that he hasn't stopped partying since the group's third single Just A Little reached Number One on Sunday, has revealed that they will be covering the Mantronix hit Got to Have Your Love for their next release.
The track appears on the group's debut album Thinking It Over, which is released next week.
And while Kevin, who lived with his parents at the Royal Hotel in Abbey Village until appearing on Popstars, accepts the group will probably be handing over the number one spot to either Westlife or Eminem this weekend, he insisted today: "Life just keeps getting better for us."
He said: "I have always wanted a number one and when we actually heard we have done it, I had to keep pinching myself.
"It has been really hard work to get where we are but I am delighted by it. We have been through a lot, what with the second single not doing so well, then the other group suing us over the name Liberty -- which forced the group to change their name to Liberty X -- but it all paid off on Sunday."
Kevin admits the group took a gamble after losing on Popstars. They held out for a record company which would give them some artistic freedom, as opposed to manufacturing hits.
The 22-year-old added: "It was a gamble but it means that people can't just put us in one box. On our album there are pop songs, R'n'B, garage and some good ballads. We have co-written 10 of the 14 tracks on the album and it was basically a case of if we liked it we used it.
"One of the songs is a cover of the Mantronix single Got to Have Your Love, which is going to be the next single.
"The album is out on Monday and we are just hoping it does well."
Kevin's last trip home was last Saturday to his parents' new home in Leyland. He had done a gig in Blackpool and took part in the soccer sixes in Liverpool on Sunday. By then, everyone had more than an inkling that the group were going to do well in the charts.
"It was brilliant," said Kevin. "Everyone was so happy for us and we just couldn't get over it. So many people have backed us from the start.
"It was quite a strong week for songs as well. We beat Enrique Iglasias, Ronan Keating, A1 and Atomic Kitten which is amazing."
The number one has seen things go into overdrive for Kevin and the group. Photoshoots have been followed by radio interviews and TV programmes -- culminating in Top Of The Pops tonight.
But it doesn't stop there -- the group have Europe to conquer.
"We are going to Italy for the day on Sunday to perform at a concert," said Kevin.
"We are being asked to go all over Europe as well but it is just a case of finding the time. We are big in Japan, but have only ever spent one week there, and also in Singapore. We went there once for Richard Branson -- who owns record label V2 -- and they really took to the song.
"Then we are doing shows across Britain, which I am looking forward to. It is just non-stop!"
