HIGH SPEED thrills and spills are promised this weekend as Blackpool hosts the second round of the British Jet Ski Championships.
More than 120 of the country's top riders will battle it out this Saturday and Sunday for championship points just off the Promenade between Blackpool Pleasure Beach and the Blackpool Light Craft Club Watersports Centre, at Starr Gate
The action-packed event, organised by the British Jet Sport Association and Royal Yachting Association, is the second round of a national series and the first of its type to be staged in the resort.
The two-day championships include high speed circuit racing and the all action freestyle series.
Event organiser Lisa Barsby said: "We are really looking forward to holding our event in Blackpool. It's the ideal venue for our sport.
"The long, straight promenade will give spectators a brilliant view of the action.
"We thank BLCC Watersports Centre for inviting us to use their excellent facilities and are really looking forward to racing and enjoying all Blackpool's attractions, especially it's world famous hospitality"
Club membership, allowing full use of the club house, is available for the weekend's events by contacting Bryan on (07733) 315 352 or going to www.blackpool-watersports.co.uk
