THE girlfriend of a teenager seriously injured in a car crash three months ago will be wielding hair clippers on Monday, to raise funds for his continued care.
Adele Bolton, a first year modern apprentice in hairdressing at Blackburn College, and her fellow students will be aiming to shave the heads of 50 people. More volunteers are needed who can gather sponsorship for their shave -- on number one or number two guard -- to help Andrew McMinn's family and friends with their cash quest.
Car passenger Andrew, 19, of Blake Gardens, Great Harwood, was injured in February.
The first 12 weeks of his rehabilitation have been paid for by the NHS, but his family needs to raise £2,000 a week to help pay for his continued treatment.
The sponsored event will take place between 4-6pm on Monday at the college's hairdressing salon in the Feilden Centre.
Depending on his England soccer commitments, Blackburn Rovers' midfielder David Dunn is hoping to attend.
Anyone who would like to join in the sponsored headshave should contact Gill or Lisa on 01254 292149.
