I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with DM ("A shining example", Yours Truly, May 16) about the youngsters of today.

Why are they on the streets at night when we have a brilliant swimming club, football, cricket and rounders teams, Radcliffe Athletic Club, the Army and Air cadets, Coney Green Sports Centre, martial arts clubs, Scouts and Guide associations, as well as an under-16s night club at Fusion?

The problem is not one of there being nothing to do but that they would just rather not do it. If these clubs are not supported, then in a few years these youngsters really will have nothing to do!
