OUR son, who lives in Clitheroe, saves the Lancashire Evening Telegraph each day for when he comes to visit us. He knows we love to keep up with all the news, as we were born and bred in Blackburn.
As we were looking at recent editions, my husband saw your April 4 article about the old Clayton Goodfellows engineering works and the picture of employees taken in 1936.
Much to our surprise, there was my father right in the centre of the photograph. He was a shipping clerk at the company from leaving the forces in 1918 to retirement.
My father, Len Cooper, spent many happy years working there. I was only two years old when this picture was taken and, of course, our son and daughter were delighted to see the picture of their grandad, whom they adored.
