FIREFIGHTERS showed they are determined to get in shape after snapping up exercise equipment so crews could train at the fire station.
Burnley Fire Brigade bought the gym and weights equipment from the former Michelin company's Sports and Social Club in Burnley after it closed down last month.
The fire crews paid £800 for the equipment, money which Michelin will donate to charity.
Among those getting in trim at the weekend were firefighters Gary Kiyani and Wayne Dowell.
The 36-acre Michelin site in Bancroft Road is set to be redeveloped into a business park after the factory, first opened in July 1960, was bought by the North West Development Agency,
The agency is also responsible for the sale of the sports and social club.
