COUNCILLORS have deferred an application for outline planning permission for a storage and distribution warehouse in Burnley until their next meeting.
The plans to erect a new trade warehouse on land off March Street were opposed by residents at a meeting of Burnley Council's development control committee.
Resident Andrew Walker said: "Access to the warehouse will not work as it is proposed. Deliveries will have to go through a residential area which residents do not want to have to put up with.
"There would be added traffic problems in the area and we have only got four car parking spaces to service the proposed warehouse which would not be sufficient.
"Life would be unbearable for a lot of residents including an 85-year-old lady who doesn't want the extra traffic problems."
The application was deferred until the next meeting of the development control committee for a site visit by planning officers.
